The hosts made the first strike when Brandon Mcdonald's header went past the Indian goalkeeper. Travis Nicklaw widened the lead by scoring in the 60th minute, almost ending India's chances of making a comeback.

Captain Sunil Chhetri pulled one back in the 93rd minute to make it 1-2. It was his 50th international goal. Chhetri had scored against Oman in the first game as well.

It was Guam's second consecutive win after they shocked Turkmenistan 1-0 in their opening game.

India will play Iran in their next World Cup qualifier on September 8, 2015.

India are clubbed with Oman, Guam, Iran and Turkmenistan in the group.
