Bengaluru, August 22: Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has stated that he favours the move to close the transfer window before the Premier League starts as it would let the players to get accostumed to the atmosphere soon.

The transfer window generally closes three weeks after the start of the Premier League campaign and many clubs and managers have questioned the rule of the window and meeting has been arranged on September 7, where clubs will vote on potential changes including closing the window before the season.

Many managers like Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho etc have also come out in support of the move as they feel that when the season begins, each club should have their squad set up, despite the fact that they would stay helpless against offers from European clubs arrive in the late window.

Players including Southampton's Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho and Everton's Ross Barkley all are facing the same issues as all their fates are uncertain right now.

And talking after the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Wembley, Spurs attacker Kane also vouched for the same issue and said: "I think yeah, there have been talks about maybe closing it before the start of the season."

"Me personally I think that would be good. I think when the season starts it would be good to just everyone is where they are at. You get on with the season.

"At the minute there is always players going here and there and there is a lot of talk for some players and maybe they should be concentrating on the season. Let's see what happens in the future but my opinion I think it would be good to end it when the season starts."

Tottenham completed their first signing of the season last Friday (August 18) when they broke their transfer record to acquire Davinson Sanchez from Ajax, and they could now add as many as three new players in the last 10 days to strengthen the squad.
