Indian Gooner is the talk of the town!

Arsenal Kerala Supporters Club pumps up the tempo with its hip hop single, Indian Gooner, on YouTube, as EPL gets going.

Bengaluru, August 17: Arsenal fans had plenty to cheer on the opening day of the Premier League season last week as they beat Leicester City 4-3 in a thriller at the Emirates Stadium.

That match happened in London, but the reverberations were felt more far across the backwaters in the Southern Indian state of Kerala.

It was doube delight for the Arsenal Kerala Supporters Club (AKSC), the officially recognised fan community of the FA Cup and Community Shield winners. They had released an Arsenal-themed rap song in YouTube on August 10 and it had gone viral on the social media.

The song titled Indian Gooner (yes, a loose remake of Gunners) takes the Arsenal fans to a trip down the memory lane -- the way the journey started way back in 2000s.

The video shot over two days takes you through picturesque locations to football stadiums to iconic venues.

"The idea of the song came to me a few months back after a disappointing season for Arsenal fans. Since we have a very active group of Gooners I thought we could do this song as a way of showing our unconditional support to the club and the players," said Siddharth Madathilkatt aka Mr SPIN, who himself wrote, sung, conceptualised and produced the music video.

The AKSC has close to 5,000 members and two them watched one of Arsenal's pre-season matches at the Emirates Stadium.

After the nerve-wracking Premier League opener in which the Gunners twice came from behind with Olivier Giroud coming off the bench to head a late winner, the music video has become a runaway hit and Siddarth feels justified for the profound affiliation towards Arsene Wenger's side.

"It's because of unmatched drama like this that many of us have a special place in our hearts for Arsenal."
