Jack Wilshere involves in a fight with Manchester City youngsters

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere's recovery from a broken leg took an eventful turn on Monday (August 21) as the midfielder was sent off after being involved in a mass brawl.

London, Aug 22: Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere's recovery from a broken leg took an eventful turn on Monday (August 21) as the midfielder was sent off after being involved in a mass brawl during the Arsenal under-23 match against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

Wilshere who spent the last season on loan at Bournemouth is yet to feature for the senior side this season as he was recovering from a fracture to the lower left leg suffered during Bournemouth's 4-0 defeat at Spurs in April.

The 25-year-old was sketched into the Arsenal reserve side on Monday night which was his first game since the injury and he was drafted alongside Arsenal first-team squad players Rob Holding and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Wilshere made a fine start in the match and even assisted one goal for the Gunners' reserve side, however, his tenure in the match ended shortly after he involved in a heated altercation and fight his couple of city youngsters.

Wilshere responded irately to a foul from City midfielder Matthew Smith and the England midfielder pushed Smith to the floor and afterward engaged in a fight with City's Tyreke Wilson.

Later, players from the two sides involved in a heated argument and both Wilshere and Wilson were given a straight red.

Wilshere, however, won't be prohibited for any senior matches but under new Football Association rules, he will miss three non-first team games.

The English midfielder's future at Emirates is still unsettled and he has been linked with a move away from England to AC Milan and Lazio recently.
