Madrid, July 23: Real Madrid star and Colombian international James Rodriguez has revealed that his club has received a hefty offer for him.
James, 25, joined the Spanish giants in 2014 and had an impressive debut season at the club. He scored 13 goals and 13 assists in the entire season.
But things did not turn up well for the midfielder last time as he lost his first team place. Zinedine Zidane preferred a 4-3-3 formation at the club with Casemiro as the holding midfield and Toni Kroos and Luka Modric upfront.
Even though, James is not guaranteed a first team appearance on a regular basis, the player wants to stay back the club and fight for his place.
The AS quoted James: "I will fight to earn my place. That's my dream. I will stay at Real Madrid, I will succeed here.
"I know that the club received an €85m (£71m) bid for me, but I'm not leaving."
About James' chances in the starting XI and his role in the Real Madrid side, manager Zidane suggested: "The idea with James is the same as with everyone else - he's a Real Madrid player.
"I'm not going to tell you that James is a starter. He's an important player. We'll see what happens this year, I have a big squad and it's complicated.
"I have to play the most competitive side I can and I'll do the same thing this season, that's my responsibility."
James Rodriguez started in just 17 matches for Real Madrid last season in the La Liga.
