Jesse Lingard reveals Manchester United's positive dressing room vibe

Jesse Lingard has stated that the mood in the dressing room has changed over the last few months and his team are prepared to win the league title this season.

Bengaluru, August 18: Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard has stated that the mood in the dressing room has bettered over the last few months and his team have acknowledged the talk of winning the title.

The three years that instantly passed after Sir Alex Ferguson's departed the club were as disappointing as they were inadequate for the Red Devils devotees, however, the club now seem, by all accounts, to be back in an upward spiral.

Manchester United got off to a promising start to the new campaign last week, beating West Ham 4-0 at Old Trafford which was also their biggest win in the Premier League for about three years.

EFL Cup, Community Shield and Europa League magnificence in Jose Mourinho's first season shaded their struggling 6th place Premier League finish, however, according to Lingard the club now seem, by all accounts, to be back in an upward inclination, something which the players have come to recognize.

"There's a lot of confidence flying around at the moment and it's good that we can stick together and be a part of it," Lingard, who came on as a substitute in United's win over West Ham, said after the game.

"Even the lads who weren't involved at the weekend still played a big part in the win."

When was inquired as to whether the state of mind has changed in the changing room, Lingard said: "You could say that. We've come off the back of three trophies, so the confidence is flowing.

"The group that we had it was easy for players to settle in, the likes of Rom [Lukaku] and Victor [Lindelof], it was always going to be easy for them. They're very down to earth guys and they want to work hard on the training pitch."

Lingard also hinted at the possibilities of the Premier League title returning to Old Trafford, insisting they want to win maximum possible trophies including PL.

"I don't see why not," said Lingard. "The whole team is working hard this season and hopefully we'll win trophies. We're in a lot of competitions, the more trophies the better.

"We're obviously back in the Champions League this season so there's many more trophies we can win."
