Kolkata, Aug 16: Jose Ramirez Barreto had come to Kolkata for a two-day visit after a gap of almost a year.

He is going to be associated with an orthopedic center in Kolkata where an ultra modern rehab-center will also be launched. Brazilian striker will reportedly join the rehab center as its technical director.

Barreto, the former Mohun Bagan striker, offered Kolkata's two football giants i.e. East Bengal and Mohun Bagan to tie-up with the rehab center. Tie up with the rehab center will help the injured footballers from both the clubs to easily avail the modern system to get cured.

But it was extremely difficult for the former Bagan striker to get into the stadium and watch Mohun Bagan's Kolkata Premier League match against Southern Samity on Monday (August 14) at Mohun Bagan ground.

Barreto explained to myKhel, "I really could not think that even after five years of my retirement from the game both Mohun Bagan and East Bengal fans would love so much to see me. I could not realize that they would be so ecstatic after watching me."

Barreto, who is now one of the chief coaches in the IMG-Reliance Foundation organized football academy in Mumbai, was also invited into the Mohun Bagan dressing room before team's match against Southern Samity.

The Brazilian striker motivated the club's present generation of footballers along with the new three foreign footballers in the dressing room.

Citing the example of his own days with the green-and-maroon brigade Barreto said, "I was trying to tell them about the importance of green-and-maroon jersey and tried explaining to them how the footballers, representing Mohun Bagan have to take mental pressure before participating in any match."

Barreto watched Mohun Bagan's match, seated in the VIP stands. However, he wasn't much impressed with the team's overall performance. But he seemed happy to have watched Bagan's new Liberian striker Kromah's touch on the box.

"He is expected to shine this season," quipped Barreto.
