Lionel Messi and Neymar take same flight to reach Brazil

Minas Gerais, Nov 9: FC Barcelona superstars Lionel Messi and Neymar along with teammate Javier Mascherano took the same flight to reach, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Neymar-led Brazil take on Lionel Messi's Argentina this week in a crucial FIFA World Cup 2018 World Cup qualifier game.

The Barcelona stars were the last to reach the venue a day after their teams reached. They were a part of the Barca side who defeated Sevilla 2-1 on Sunday.

Lionel Messi and along with his compatriot Javier Mascherano were offered a lift in Neymar's private jet from Spain.

Messi and Mascherano are the last two players to join the Argentina squad for the upcoming international matches, while Neymar was the second last player to join the Brazilian squad. Zenit St. Petersburg's Guiliano will be the last Brazil star to join the squad.

Lionel Messi, who retired from international football out of sheer frustration after the 2016 Copa America final loss to Chile, made a comeback in September after being requested from several fronts.

Neymar, on the hand, added a new feather to Brazil's cap by winning the gold medal at Rio Olympics 2016. Neymar led the U-23 Brazilian side at the games.

Messi has netted 56 international goals for the La Albiceleste in 114 matches, while Neymar has scored 49 goals in 73 matches.

Brazil, at the moment, are comfortably placed at the top position in the South American qualifying table, a point more than Luis Suarez's Uruguay.

Argentina, unfortunately, struggling at the sixth position in the table, which makes this encounter all the more important to Lionel Messi and company.
