Monaco, August 15: AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho has dropped an apparent hint that he would like to leave the club for a new challenge with a different European club after he says the club 'will still be okay' without him.

Clubs like Manchester United and Paris Saint German are believed to be targeting the defensive midfielder this season to strengthen their squad but Monaco have repeatedly insisted no more players will leave the club this summer.

Last year's French champions have already lost stars like Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko this season to Premier League clubs this summer.

With star striker Kylian Mbappe and attacker Thomas Lemar also been linked with a big money move to Real Madrid and Arsenal respectively, the Brazilian has questioned his future in the Ligue 1 team.

Fabinho was also believed to be eager to join the exodus of players from Monaco to other European clubs. The Brazilian reportedly has made his intentions earlier clear in an interview after insisting he will welcome a move to Manchester United.

However, Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev later insisted neither Mbappe nor Fabinho will be sold this summer.

He said: "We have kept all of the key players that we intended to keep, Fabinho is a must-have player in midfield who was being courted by all the major clubs."

"I will also address speculation about Lemar: he is staying with us. We have discussed this."

"Both these players have tremendous talent and are essential for our team. We must not await further departures, rather arrivals."

However, after Monaco's league match against Dijon on Sunday, the 23-year-old has again made his aims clear despite the French outfit's hardline posture.

"I feel good, there is nothing to say about my situation, the club knows my will, I hope we will continue this way and that Monaco will still be okay." said Fabinho.

Fabinho made 55 appearances for Monaco last season in all competitions and is under contract with the Monaco until June 2021.
