No Sneijder for Manchester United: Sir Alex Ferguson

By Biswajeet Panda
London, Jul 19: If anyone wished to see Inter Milan's playmaker Wesley Sneijder turn out for English Premier League Manchester United, then they can wrap it up and start doing their own stuff as it is not going to happen.

Sir Alex Fergsuon, the manager of Manchester United has categorically denied talks of a potential move for Sneijder. It can be recollected that there have been incessant talks about a possible move by the Red Devils to snap up the 27-year old Milan playmaker.

Declining the possibility of any such move, Ferguson said, "Forget it. We are looking at some things but I am not so sure Sneijder will be easy to get."

The legendary manager of the club added that there are not many players going around whom he could target to bolster his already strong team. He said, "I could pick three or four players to come in but they wouldn't be good enough for us, so there is no point."

To a question, about when would he prefer to start the new English Premier League season, he said, "I would be happy enough. Maybe I am a bit overloaded in the strikers' positions. The alternatives in midfield are not nearly as strong. But I have a good squad."

He also took the opportunity to clear the air about Dimitar Berbatov, who has been rumoured for a summer exit despite being the EPL top scorer in 2010-11 season. Reports have been doing rounds that he was unhappy at missing out on a place in the Manchester United side that played the UEFA Champions League final against Barcelona at Wembley.

Ferguson said, "Dimitar is fine. There is no problem. He has trained very hard. He was disappointed to be left out of the final but I was disappointed myself having to tell him."

And added, "But that is the problem in football today. You get to the big games and you are not just disappointing one player, you are disappointing six or seven."
