India international and local boy CK Vineeth netted the all-important goal in the 66th minute to confirm Kerala a berth in the semi-finals.

Kerala moved to the second position in the league table with 22 points from 14 outings. They take on third-placed Delhi Dynamos in the two-legged semi-finals.

Table toppers Mumbai City FC lock horns with Atletico de Kolkata in the other semi-finals.

Yesterday's clash was virtually a knock-out game as the winner would have qualified for the playoffs. While it was must win for NorthEast United, a draw would have been enough for Kerala.

The hosts missed the services of Jose Prieto and Mehtab Hossain, while the visitors were without star player Nicolas Velez.
