Bengaluru, Dec 5: The La Liga game week 14 witnessed some mouth-watering clashes, the headlining one being the season's first El Clasico, Saturday, December 3.

Luis Enrique's FC Barcelona locked horns with Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid at the Camp Nou stadium. Real Madrid started the game with 6 points clear at the top of the table. Barcelona were at the second position.

Barcelona had to win the game to narrow the wide gap in the points table somewhat. After a drab first half, Barcelona started to dominate the proceedings.

Luis Suarez scored an opportunistic goal by heading in a curling free-kick from Lionel Messi's corner. Just when everyone thought that the Catalan side would run away with a close win, Real captain rose up to the occasion and scored a header in the 88th minute.

The win keeps Real at the top with 34 points while Barcelona are in second place with 28.

In another important match, Atletico Madrid once again failed to win against a weak Espanyol side. It was a perfect opportunity for Diego Simeone's men to climb up the charts to third position considering Sevilla had lost their match against Granada.
