Bengaluru, August 20: Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool are set to be disappointed in the pursuit of Julian Draxler after Paris Saint-Germain reportedly decided they do not want to sell the German superstar.

The German attacking midfielder only joined PSG last January in a £35.5million transfer from Wolfsburg, but the £198million arrival of Neymar has cast doubts over his future at the club and reports claim that the German is likely to be shipped out as soon as possible.

Arsenal have a long-standing interest in Draxler and tried to sign him in January when it became clear Wolfsburg were prepared to sell.

The Gunners had been told a £32million offer would be enough to prize Draxler away from France and were considering to re-ignite their interest.

However, 'ESPN' claim PSG never considered selling Draxler and that his future did not depend on the arrival of Neymar. They do consider the German as a key player for a long time and it has not changed.

The German international returned late to PSG for pre-season and has been left out of his side's opening games as he continues to work towards full fitness.

Blaise Matuidi has left to join Juventus and even more attackers are expected to leave, especially if PSG do end up buying Kylian Mbappe this summer.

But, Draxler is not part of the potential departures group at PSG and has the full backing of manager Unai Emery.

Reports of PSG putting Draxler up for sale had prompted a response from the player's agent with Liverpool and Arsenal heavily linked with a move.

'We are not interested in whether L'Equipe wrote something,' Roger Wittmann said.

'There has been no change, it is not a topic.

'If somebody writes 'I have this information from Nasser Al-Khelaifi [PSG chairman and CEO],' then I will consider it and call the president to speak about Julian's situation.

'Once again, though, this is not the case. So, everything has been said.'
