According to media reports, the new England manager had sent introductory emails on Tuesday (August 2) to the 23 players who were in the Euro 2016 squad.

Burnley goalkeeper, Tom Heaton who was a part of the Euro squad revealed about Allardyce email stunt. He said: "He sent a brief email to say hello and introduce himself.

"I'm sure he's got a lot on but that arrived this morning which was fantastic.

"It was a general email. The way these sort of things work there's nothing you really do about it. My focus will just be on getting myself right and seeing where that takes me."

Allardyce will announce his squad by the end of August, has promised to improve the condition of the English side.

He had said: "The key element is to get among the staff in place and talk about the programme going forward, particularly psychologically.

"It's not about potential now. It's about standing up and being counted even though some of those experiences have been bitter. Potential is a world I don't like to use too much. You want the actual quality of the player producing his best immediately."
