Madrid, Aug 8: Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has fired a sly dig at his former Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho, insisting he was "just another coach" in his life.

Manchester United will face Real Madrid on Wednesday (August 9) in the Super Cup Final fixture at Skopje and both the former co-workers could again reunite in that match.

Ahead of the match, the Real Madrid was asked to compare Mourinho to current boss Zidane in which Ramos hinted Zinedine Zidane's understanding with the Real Madrid players has encouraged him to bigger accomplishment than Mourinho had at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"My view is that when a team has a coach it changes, every coach is different because if his system, tactics, and personality," said the Spanish international.

"One coach is not necessarily better than another. They are just different.

"Zizou was very good at understanding our dressing room as a former player. Maybe that gives him an advantage.

"One can look at the picture and draw different conclusions. I believe both are great coaches. We are lucky to be living this historical moment with Zizou."

Mourinho moulded Ramos from a right-back to a centre in which the 31-year-old later established himself as one of the best defenders.

However, speaking to the media, the Spain captain insisted that move did not change his career as he always sees improvement from all his coaches.

"I don't think that changed my career at all," he said.

"Mourinho was just another coach I worked with in my football career and I have always learnt from others, from when I was a youngster at Sevilla.

"So I am very, very grateful but I don't think Mourinho has changed my life in football at all."

Mourinho was in the Spanish capital for the three years between 2010-2013 and led them to a league title and Copa Del Ray just once in these years.

In the final year of his Madrid stay, the Portuguese involved in some rift with the Senior players like Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo which eventually led his exit from Bernabeu as he then made a return to Chelsea.
