Tottenham target Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez

London, August 17: Tottenham Hotspur have made a £27 million bid for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

Spurs have endured a frustrating summer window so far and are the only Premier League side yet to secure a signing. However, they have the funds available following selling players like Kyle Walker, Nabil Bentaleb, Clinton N'Jie and Federico Fazio for a total amount of near about £72 million.

And now according to reports, misfit Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez could become Pochettino's first of the many summer signings of this window.

Although earlier reports stated that, Napoli had looked to be leading the race for the Catalan player's signature, it has now emerged that the North London club has joined the race for the Spanish player. Valencia are also believed to be interested in the midfielder, however, they are yet to make a formal bid for him.

Suarez was bought as an academy player from Manchester City in 2013 but since then failed to make his place in the Barcelona squad permanent and eventually left the club in 2015 for Villareal.

However, he re-joined Barcelona last summer from Villarreal but has again struggled for regular games. And now with the signing of midfielder Paulinho and the probable inclusion of Phillipe Coutinho and Dembele, he is further likely to drop down the pecking order.

With such condition, the young midfielder has agreed to move on and Barcelona are also rumoured to be willing to sell the 23-year-old who is priced around in the region of €30 million.

Suarez appeared 26 times for Barcelona last season and scored three goals in the meantime.

Spurs are also recently been strongly linked with a move for Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez.
