Bengaluru, August 20: Premier League side West Ham United have launched a bid for Celtic starlet Moussa Dembele if reports from the English and Spanish media are believed to be true.

However, the Hammers face competition from Ligue 1 champions Monaco who are looking at the French sensation as a potential replacement of their own prodigy Kylian Mbappe who is closing in on a move to PSG.

Dembele has scored 32 goals in 48 appearances for Celtic since joining from Fulham last year, but he could be on his way back to London this summer if West Ham become successful in landing the youngster.

According to French outlet Le 10 Sport, who claim West Ham have made an offer for Dembele as Slaven Bilic looks to add more firepower to his frontline.

The Hammers have already brought in former Manchester United hitman Javier Hernandez and broke their transfer record to sign Marko Arnautovic from Stoke in a £24million deal but are still looking for quality additions and in Dembele, they have found an ideal candidate to take the club to glory.

Dembele is hardly short of suitors for himself. Both Chelsea and Arsenal are admirers of the Celtic hitman after the 21-year-old's impressive displays north of the border.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is however keen to keep the former PSG youngster at Parkhead but conceded earlier this summer that anything can happen in football.

Rodgers said last month: "Moussa is very content and happy. He looks very fit and hasn't had a long lay-off. He is someone of great character.

"He is very stable, nothing affects him. Of course he is not a player we want to sell.

"Like all the players we want to keep him, but we know how football works and we will see what happens."
