Zambrotta said: "Given his fan following in India, I think Zlatan would want to come and end his career here. On my end, I will definitely try and convince him to play for Delhi Dynamos."

The Dynamos manager had played alongside Zlatan at AC Milan and shares a very good relationship with the forward.

He took charge of the Delhi Dynamos side this side after hearing positive things about the team and league from former Italian teammate Alessandro Del Piero. Del Piero was Delhi's marquee player in Season 1.

Zambrotta added: "Del Piero told me good things about the club and their sincerity towards football, which convinced me that it is the perfect opportunity for me."

Delhi Dynamos have started their ISL 2016 campaign on a high by winning the first game and managing a draw in the second match.

The Italian has a very strong outfit at his disposal and they would aim to lift the championship this time after missing out by a whisker last time.

They were eliminated from the semi-finals conceding a defeat to FC Goa.
