Asiad hockey: India beats Pak 3-2, enters semis

Guangzhou, Nov 20: India defeated Pakistan to enter the semi-finals of hockey event in Asian Games on Saturday, Nov 20.

India thrashed Pakistan 3-2 to enter the semis in Group B match, keeping the hope of another gold medal in Asiad.

India took lead in the 3rd minute with a stunning goal by Sandeep Singh from a penalty corner. Later, within few minutes Pakistan leveled the score with a brilliant goal.

Just before the half time, India again took the lead 2-1. After the half time Pakistan again leveled the score. India's winning goal came just four minutes away to the final whistle. Sandeep Singh scored the crucial goal from a penalty corner.

Indian team continued its winning reign over the neighbouring rival for the consecutive third match. Earlier in 2010, India defeated Pakistan at World Cup in Mar and in Commonwealth Games in Oct.
