Pune, Jan 11: Peeved by the team members' decision to resume the strike, Hockey India (HI) president AK Mattoo threatened to suspend the players.
"If you ask me it is an option. I can use it today, tomorrow or any other day but I don't want this to happen," Mattoo told reporters.
Despite reaching a reported truce with the Hockey India officials, the national hockey team on Monday, Jan 11, resumed their indefinite boycott of the preparatory World Cup camp, in protest of the non-payment of dues and incentives for their performance in 2009.
On Saturday, Jan 9, the players met the officials. But, they decided to continue their strike on Sunday, Jan 10.
Earlier on Monday, Jan 11, the governing body's representative Ikram Khan was rushed to Pune to hold conciliatory talks with the disgruntled players.
Mr Khan had said that the players demands were 'fair enough' and hoped to reach a compromise over the issue.
