Kapur finishes tied 40th; Randhawa at 43rd in BMW International

Munich, Jun 23 (UNI) Indian golf pro Shiv Kapur fired a one-under 71 to finish at the tied 40th spot at the BMW International Open here.

Kapur, who was at the tied 47th position before the start of the final round, ended his campaign with a total of three-under 285.

The Delhi-pro was off to a good start with a birdie on the second hole.

He hit another couple of birdies on the sixth and ninth but a bogey in between saw him make the turn at two-under.

Kapur then ran into rough weather in the back nine and dropped bogeys on the 11th and 14th against a lone birdie on the 13th.

Another Indian in the fray, Jyoti Randhawa also shot a one-under 71 in his final round to climb nine spots and finish tied 43rd with a total of two-under 286.

Randhawa had a poor start with bogeys on the second, third and sixth.

The Chandigarh-pro redeemed himself on the back nine which was studded with three birdies.

Local favourite Martin Kaymer (75) beat Dane Anders Hansen (67) in a playoff to claim the title after the duo were tied at 15-under 273.
