Hamilton wins Turkish Grand Prix

By Anmolg

Turkey: Lewis Hamilton went past the chequered flag to seal his first win of the season in the Turkish Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton starting from second on the grid was helped by Red bull team-mates, who were looking to post a yet another win and a one-two finish possibly finish for the Red bull team when the team-mates collided with one another 18 laps before the chequered flag for fighting for the winner's position.

The two cars collided, Vettel's right rear tyre deflated and he spun off into retirement while Webber went off track but managed to come back.

The 2008 World Champion was without a single race win this season and his last race win was in Singapore last September while he was still champion. Hamilton grabbed full advantage of the situation and steered his car to first place followed by his team-mate Jenson Button.

"To get a our second one-two is fantastic," said Hamilton, whose pop singer girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger was pacing nervously around the garage during the closing laps according to reports from Reuters.

Webber who was starting from pole position for Red Bull who was looking for his third consecutive win before the start of the race now leads the championship by five points from Button. The McLaren duo moved up the standings with Button on 88 points and Hamilton third with 84.

McLaren ousted Red Bull from the top of the constructors' standings by a single point after the final result.

Michael Schumacher for the first time finished in front of his team-mate, finishing fourth for Mercedes, the seven-times champion a hefty 31.1 seconds behind Hamilton, with team mate and fellow-German Nico Rosberg fifth.
