By Staff

New Delhi, Dec 18: Tatas, one of the biggest business corporators in India has on Thursday, Dec 18 has forayed into Formula One sector by striking a deal with Team Ferrari, which is one of the biggest teams in Formula One. India's presence in Formula One is growing. It was in 2008 season, an Indian team made its debut in Formula One. In 2009 it is going to be one of India's biggest brands TATA sponsoring Formula One.

Team Ferrari said it is happy of being associated with an Indian brand and called the partnership a 'historic one.' An ambitious global branding move, it is seen as the most cost-effective way to get the message across and would ensure the highest brand visibility for Tata.

However this is not a first for Tata in Formula One, as they were associated with Narain Karthikeyan, first with Jordan in 2005 and subsequently at Williams. So next time when you see Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa battle the tracks wearing an Indian brand on their sleeve do cheer for India too...
