Aus Open: Federer, Serena advance to 4th round

Melbourne, Jan 23: Defending champ, Serena Williams defeated Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro 6-0, 6-3 to not only advance to the fourth round at the Australian Open, but also to taste sweet revenge.

The Spainard had defeated Serena's older sister Venus Williams in the second round in 2009.

But this year, Serena did not even let Navarro get close to something called victory.

Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer also stormed into the fourth round after claiming a 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Albert Montanes.

Besides advancing in the tournament, the top ranked player also registered his 50th win at Melbourne park.
