Paes, Bhupathi enter 2nd round of Sony Ericsson Open

Miami, US, Mar 30: Indian tennis stars Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi won their respective doubles encounters to enter the pre-quaterfinals of the 3.77 million dollar Sony Ericsson Open here. Paes and his Australian partner Paul Hanley, who were seeded eighth, had to sweat it out against Yves Allegro of Switzerland and Paul-Henri Mathieu of France 2-6 6-0 10-3 in their opening round clash.
The fourth-seeded duo of Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of Bahamas also had to fight hard before defeating Tomas Berdych and Lukas Dlouchy of the Czech Republic via the super tie-break 3-6 6-3 10-5.
