Paris, Jun 6: He may have lost the French Open final to Rafael Nadal for the fourth time, but that doesn't dampen the spirit of Roger Federer, arguably the finest Tennis Player (Men's) of all time. He isn't bitter about this bete noire Rafael Nadal too and has proudly said that after much fuss over the decline, the fact remains that Rafa and Roger era is still on.

Speaking at a press conference after losing 7-5 7-6 5-7 6-1 to Nadal on Court Philippe Chatrier, the Swiss maestro said, "I told people that we should wait six months after the Australian Open when people thought Rafa and me were done. It's unfortunate that it goes so quickly at times. Now we're back in the finals and now it's different talk again. I don't even go there, because I knew it wasn't the case."

He was referring to the talks about Novak Djokovic's amazing runs this year when he won 41 matches on the trot, before being finally beaten by him. During the course of this run Djokovic, had comprehensively beaten Nadal and Federer on multiple occasions and was touted as the one who could end the duo's hold on Men's Singles Tennis.

Federer, winner of the most Grand Slam Singles Title hasn't won a Grand Slam since 2010 Australian Open. But he isn't slightly bothered and insists that the French Open Final appearance will do him a world of good.

He said, "I've been confident for almost a year now. I think I lost some confidence maybe through the French Open and Wimbledon last year but I was in the finals of (the Wimbledon warm-up event in) Halle as well in this period, so I didn't feel like I was running after confidence."

With the French Open 2011 becoming a history, the Swiss maestro has now set his sights on the Wimbledon. He said, "That's obviously the huge priority right now, to win Wimbledon in a few weeks' time. That's always, for me, the sort of No. 1 goal in the season."
