Serena Williams hopes to play Fed Cup

Melbourne, Oct 9: After raising a storm for flaunting her nude body on the ESPN magazine, Serena Williams is worried over being in 'shape' for the Fed Cup final against Italy.

After crashing out of the China Open on Thursday, Oct 8, the Serena said as long as she was not in a 'wheelchair' she would be ready for the Nov 2009 showdown on clay in Reggio Calabria.

The current World Number one who is unsure about her shape said that this would depend on how she was after the season-ending championships in Qatar.

"I definitely want to play again. I am just trying to get there. It's just really hard to see how my body is going to be after Doha -- if I am going to be walking or if I am going to be in a wheelchair," the 28-year-old said.

Serena Williams grabbed the world's top ranking from Safina Dinara after the Russian failed to perform in Beijing. The official ranking will be released on Monday, Oct 12.

However, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) has been considering imposing a ban on the world champ for violating the sport's code of conduct for not only misbehaving in the US open Semifinals but also for posing nude for the sports magazine.
