Bengaluru, August 23: In this modern era of the WWE, Asuka might be the most dominant champion. Since her debut back in October 2015 in NXT and she remains undefeated. This is the reason she is still holding the NXT women's championship even after surpassing 500 days with it. But, there's some bad news waiting for her, according to the WWE doctors.
Asuka picked up an injury during her match against Ember Moon at the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III event in Summerslam weekend. The injury was felt after the brutal match was over which stole the show. According to the critics, the women's title match was the best of the night.
However, the reigning champion suffered an injury to her collarbone. She was able to finish the match despite the injury and was able to retain the title successfully. WWE doctors examined her following the match and announced that the injury is legit and will sideline her for sometimes.

Asuka suffers collarbone injury at NXT TakeOver https://t.co/pMamBtu7fn @wwe
According to the statement from WWE doctor, Jeffrey Westerfield, the X-Ray reports show a fracture in Asuka's collarbone which would rule her out of competition for 4-6 weeks at least which means she will not be seen for 2 months.
Check out the official statement from WWE, here:
"During the match, she landed awkwardly from a throw from Ember Moon and was able to complete the match, but had notable pain and discomfort. We performed an initial ultrasound backstage that was highly suspicious of a break that was later confirmed by an X-ray."
The first NXT episode following the Takeover event will take place on the WWE Network, tomorrow night. We expect to get a further update on this situation. With this injury hitting The Empress of Tomorrow, the title reign is in quite a jeopardy. It will be interesting to see what decision the officials take on the matter.
From the very beginning, the Japanese female athlete has been an asset to the NXT territory. This is why she is having this longest title run. It would be pretty unfortunate if that gets cut short by this injury.
