Revealed: Winner of the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship

Bengaluru, August 20: The Smackdown Women's title will be on the line at the Summerslam PPV. The reigning champion Naomi is all set to defend her glowing belt against Natalya. The challenger earned the right to face the champion by winning a fatal-5-way number one contender's match at the Battleground PPV.

Now, Natalya is considered as a veteran player on the women's roster who's been around for more than a decade. She has turned into a jobber for putting over new talents for the past couple of years. This is the reason why she has not won the Women's championship despite being around for so long.

This time, the situation was thought to be a little bit different as we expected her to win the title from Naomi. It was supposed to be a shorter run with Carmella cashing in her Money in the Bank contract and take the title away from her on the night of title win or shortly after that.

However, the reliable source, The Dirty Sheets stated something different while giving a spoiler alert for this title match. According to them, Naomi will walk out as the champion after the title match. She will not only remain champion after Summerslam but also for the rest of the year 2017.

Considering that she won the title back at Wrestlemania 33, it would be a long and dominant title run, for sure. One of the reasons behind keeping her the champion is for the merchandise sales, for sure. She has added a lightning belt, recently which is about to go on sale for the public soon.

However, Mattel, the production house of the belts let know their incapability of bringing the belt, for now. So, this particular merchandise can't be added to the WWEShop.com until the holiday season. So, Naomi might hold on to the title until the beginning of 2018.

The source also implied that Tamina will be the next opponent for Naomi on Smackdown, going forward. This is the reason why we had a backstage segment between Lana and Tamina where they discussed getting a title opportunity in the near future.
