Bengaluru, Oct 15: In a time when we are seeing the Women's revolution is in full force, the return of a veteran like Mickie James is highly appreciated.
We heard the rumors of the return of the former Women's champion since she was done with her TNA contract in recent times. Now, we have heard the confirmed news from WWE.
In a recent taping of WWE NXT, the General Manager, William Regal has broken the news to us. Mickie James will return to take on the NXT Women's champion, Asuka at the NXT Takeover: Toronto which will take place the night before Survivor Series.
Before every big PPV, WWE has made it a norm to host a NXT Takeover event and this Survivor Series will not be any exception.
The hype up regarding the same has already been started and now that this announcement is official, the anticipation has got even bigger. Moments after WWE confirmed it on their official Twitter handle, Mickie gave the update, herself.
Mickie had a successful stint in WWE and held the Women's championship for a couple of times. She had a relationship with the franchise player of the company, John Cena, back at her time.
She debuted as a fan of the great Women's champion, Trish Stratus. This led to a classic match between the two of them at the 22nd edition of Wrestlemania 22 in which Mickie defeated Trish to win the Women's title.
She left WWE in the year 2010. In her last match, she teamed up with Beth Phoenix to take on the team of Layla and Michelle McCool, better known as Laycool.
After parting ways with WWE, she enjoyed her run in the TNA wrestling promotion and had become a three-time TNA Knockout champion, there.
She is also married to TNA superstar, Magnus. She even had a decent run in the independent circuit over last few months.
