WWE Monday Night Raw results with video highlights: March 7

Chicago, Mar 7: Last night's Monday Night Raw came live from the infamous All-State arena in Rosemont, Chicago, Illinois.

This was the first episode after WWE Fastlane and where the Wrestlemania buildups were made. Goldberg made his presence felt as the WWE Universal champion for the very first time. Check out the results from the show.

The show opened with a returning Chris Jericho who called out the backstabber Kevin Owens. Y2J also laid down a challenge for Wrestlemania for Owens.

Meanwhile, Samoa Joe came from behind and a two-on-one assault was delivered until Sami Zayn came out to make the save.

This set up an impromptu matchup between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Despite all the resistance from Zayn, Owens punished him a lot before finishing the contest with two pop up powerbombs.

We have got a Cruiserweight championship match between Neville and Rich Swann in which the champion successfully defended the title via Ring of Saturn submission move.

After the match, Austin Aries went for an interview with Neville who verbally assaulted him. This led Aries to hit the champ with a forearm hinting at the Wrestlemania match between them.

Goldberg emerged to the ring as the new Universal champion as the crowd loudly booed him. Paul Heyman made the save with the beast by his side.

Lesnar went for a handshake with Goldberg, his WRestlemnia opponent. But, he laid the champ down with a devastating F-5 before leaving the ring.

A tag team championship match was contested between Enzo-Cass and Gallows-Anderson which got disqualified by interference from Cesaro-Sheamus.

Bayley was there to address the WWE Universe where the show-runners decided that if Sasha Banks can defeat the champ then it would be Charlotte Vs Sasha Vs Bayley in a triple threat match at Wrestlemania. Later, Sasha defeated Bayley via submission despite interference from Charlotte and Dana Brooke.

Samoa Joe squared off in a match which was disqualified after Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch outside the ring. After the match, Jericho hit him with a codebreaker to leave the ring.

The New Day defeated the Shining Stars in a tag team match. Akira Tozawa picked up a win against Ariya Daivari.

Triple H was interviewed by Michael Cole where he advised Seth Rollins to stay away from Wrestlemania.

In the finishing segment, Braun Strowman called out Roman Reigns but instead, the Undertaker showed up to confront him. Strowman left the ring and Roman Reigns took his place in the ring.
