Alberto Del Rio says that WWE need him the most

Alberto Del Rio said WWE needed him even more than he needed the WWE to garner some more attention from the wrestling industry.

Bengaluru, Feb 10: As we all know by now that Alberto Del Rio and his girlfriend Paige are the biggest trouble makers in the pro-wrestling industry.

This always kept them in the headlines for the better part of 2016. They were even following it up with small incidents in 2017.

Now, Del Rio has run his mouth saying that WWE needed him even more than he needed the WWE to garner some more attention from the wrestling industry.

He attended a show on Busted Open with Dave LaGreca and Larry Dallas on Sirius XM Rush Channel 93 where he opened up about his experience working in the WWE.

He said that he was the biggest representative of the Mexican culture in the WWE which the company lost after he left in September 2016. Here are his comments:

"To be honest, I think they need me more than I need them. That's the reason they didn't want me to leave because they don't have anyone to represent the Latin culture, the Latin market in the company."

Things did not go well for him as the creative failed to give him proper storyline time and time again. The tradition continued and he wanted to get out of WWE contract as early as possible.

The company allowed him to do so and thus he left. These were his quotes regarding the situation: "I was getting up every single morning to fly out from San Antonio to wherever we were having the show, and I was just like a little kid on the side of the bed thinking, 'oh my God, I have to go to that place again?'

"I wasn't happy. Thank God, I saved my money, I invested my money and I got to the point where I don't need them. They don't need me, I don't need them."

After leaving the WWE, he is now performing under the Lucha Underground banner and also taking part in the indie scenes. He also became the president of the MMA promotion, Combate Americas.
