Bengaluru, Nov 27: Rob Van Dam was last seen in the WWE in the year 2014. He has competed in a few matches on Raw and Smackdown in the same year.

We expected him to return, last year but he was not seen or heard. Recently, during an interview with the Pro-Wrestling Illustrated, he was asked that if WWE has tried to reach to him for an appearance, last year.

He revealed that WWE has contacted him last year for indulging into a storyline which he refused to do.

The angle was planned between the Wyatt family and the ECW legends, last year during the TLC PPV. We have seen the Dudley Boyz starting a feud with the Wyatts.

As they got outnumbered, Tommy Dreamer joined force with them. The original planning was to make Rob Van Dam returning as the fourth ECW legend but he was not willing to do it.

So, it was Rhyno who showed up instead of Mr. Monday Night. The idea of getting the ECW veterans against the Wyatt family was to put over the new talents. Hence, the Wyatts got a clean sweep of all the series of matches they had with the ECW team.

This might be the reason that RVD was not keen to return for one final time. His last stint went horribly wrong in the 2013-2014 season.

He returned to compete at the 2013 Money in the Bank ladder match. Since then he was used to be put over only young talents. He was upset after getting used as a jobber and quite WWE.

He also spoke about being a successful ECW champion at his prime by commenting, “The crowd's reaction to what we were doing was a huge part of the show, but we were also reacting to them."

He was one of the greatest superstars in the history of ECW. He might not return to in-ring action in the WWE but we can expect him to see in the Hall of Fame, in near future.
