WWE Rumour: Cruiserweight division to be snipped off from Monday Night Raw

Vince McMahon is probably planning to snip the Cruiserweight division from Monday Night Raw.

Bengaluru, Feb 5: The Cruiserweight division is an exclusive property to Monday Night Raw ever since they have arrived on the show in September 2016.

The division was created back in last year's summer in a WWE Network special, WWE Cruiserweight Classic tournament.

The announcement of Raw taking over the division was made during the WWE Draft on July 19th, 2016.

This was supposed to be a great addition to the flagship show of WWE since they had to pull off a three-hour show every week.

The incredible athleticism of the Cruiserweight participants was meant to be an added attraction for the viewers.

However, the reality turned out to be total opposite and WWE might want to get rid of it from Raw.

As per the recent rumours, people's disinterest in the Cruiserweight division matches has not gone unnoticed to Vince McMahon.

Hence, he is probably planning to snip it from Monday Night Raw. Ever since they debuted on Raw, the audience present in the arena remains quite expressing their dislike to the content despite their great agility.

Fans giving no reaction to the product are the worst for WWE. This is the reason that time span of the Cruiserweight matches has been cut short drastically over the months.

The ratings for Raw had taken a dip on multiple occasions in recent times and these matches are a reason behind it.

It will not be the end of the Cruiserweight division, totally. They will continue to star in their own show, 205 Live which is slotted after Tuesday Night Smackdown. Triple H is fully involved in the brand and he will continue to invest in it to pull it upwards.

It is also an exclusive property of the WWE Network which allows them to channel live products for one long hour.

This means the creative should focus to give more creative product on the show to keep it interesting. Earlier, the Cruiserweight classic was a huge success for the WWE Network.

Hopefully, WWE will be able to retain this division which is reserved for athletes under 205 pounds.
