Bengaluru, Sep 24: It is good news for the pro-wrestling fans as we might get to see a much-anticipated matchup at next year's Royal Rumble.
As of 2016, Lesnar is done with his appearances. As per his contract he wrestles only in four PPVs in the calendar year, which is already over.
Then he had his Wrestlemania match against Dean Ambrose in April. In August he returned to face his scheduled opponent Randy Orton at Summerslam and thereby finishing the quota. In addition, he will do a house show against Orton on September 24th.
Now, latest rumors suggest that he will not show up anymore, in this year after September. His next scheduled opponent will be none other than the WWE Universal Champion, Kevin Owens. The match too will be contested for the title.
The original plan for WWE was to make a match between Finn Balor vs. Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble PPV.
However, Balor had to relinquish his title just after the day he won the title due to the shoulder injury he suffered at Summerslam. So, Owens will take his spot at Royal Rumble.
Brock Lesnar was not a part of the tour and we get Owns vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, instead.
Kevin Owens is all set to defend and retain his championship belt until the Royal Rumble PPV, next year. He will topple Set Rollins and Roman Reigns' challenge by help from the COO of the company, Triple H.
Once, Reigns and Rollins are out of the title picture, Owens is supposed to face Cesaro who will emerge victorious in the best of seven series against Sheamus. We might get Sami Zayn as well in the title picture, at some point.
