Bengaluru, August 20: Ever since the Universal Championship match was officially announced for Summerslam, the rumour mill was busy finding the champion's status in the WWE.

Recent reports from various sources suggested that a deal between UFC and Brock Lesnar might have come to fruition that led to this match where he will lose his title.

Furthermore, the reigning lightweight champion in UFC, Jon Jones called out the beast incarnate teasing the same. This was further addressed by WWE.com hinting that a plan might be in reserve for these two super athletes to collide.

Also, the fatal-4-way match suggested that the probability of the champion dropping his title despite not getting involved in either pinfall or submission. This would protect Brock Lesnar himself from losing the match and at the same time, will pave the way to free up his schedule so that the Jones vs. Lesnar matchup can be arranged.

However, it's a good news for the WWE fans that The Conqueror will neither lose his title nor walk out of the company following Summerslam. The dependable source, The Dirty Sheet reported that the champion will emerge as the winner at the main event of the dual brand PPV retaining the title.

WWE creative team has no intention to take the title away from the beast incarnate, right now and he will continue with the championship reign. Paul Heyman's announcement that both he and his client will leave WWE if not successful at Summerslam is a part of the storyline understanding the current scenario.

The crowd might think that there's a chance of Lesnar actually losing the match and leave WWE. This possibility will play as the swerving factor after he picks up a triumphant win at the championship match. Following this win, he will defend the title, once again at the No Mercy PPV on 24th September.

As for the chances of locking horns with Jon Jones, that might happen once Brock Lesnar leaves WWE, next year. His contract with the company expires only in April 2018. So, there are no real possibilities of seeing this dream match until the next summer.
