Bengaluru, Dec 6: The whole WWE universe was shocked about the way the match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar turned out to be. It was promoted as the dream match entitled “Fantasy warfare just got real."

But, in reality, it was nothing more than just a squash match. The match saw Goldberg earning a triumphant victory over Lesnar in just 1 minute and 26 seconds.

As reported by allwrestlingnews.com, Vince McMahon was the mastermind behind this. He granted the idea of a short match which will portray Goldberg as the dominant one he used to be in his early days.

Plus, as always, he wanted the match to have a controversial ending. This, in turn, would create a big buzz around the WWE fans to garner more attention.

The Chairman also thought that this squash match will not harm Brock Lesnar's image, at all. In his opinion, “WWE fans do have a short memory" and the beast will get his track back right when he returns in a dominant fashion.

It was earlier reported, that none but Lesnar, himself has pitched the idea of the squash match. This allowed to indulging Goldberg in more matches in the future.

As a result, we got the announcement of him being the first entrant of the Royal Rumble match. The contract got renewed with Goldberg since the idea of the squash match came to fruition.

The original idea for the match was something totally opposite when Goldberg agreed to be featured in the match.

Brock Lesnar was supposed to be the dominant winner. But, a certain let down was needed to put down Lesnar by somebody.

Plus, WWE needed more big names for the 30th edition of Royal Rumble set to take place in San Antonio, Texas.

So, they achieved both the targets with one single decision. As a result, Goldberg declared to the whole world that he is going to enter into the Royal Rumble, the next night of the Survivor Series PPV.
