Full list of cash awards given to Olympic Silver Medallist PV Sindhu

New Delhi, Aug 24: Its raining rewards for PV Sindhu after she won India's first silver medal in Badminton at Rio Olympics 2016. The 21-year-old shuttler from Hyderabad has been honoured by several state governments and private organisations for her remarkable achievement.

Who is PV Sindhu?

A total cash reward of Rs 13 crore has, so far, been announced for Sindhu who is only the second Olympic medallist, after wrestler Sakshi Malik, for India in the recently concluded Rio Games.

Sindhu became the first Indian badminton player to have played a final match at Olympic Games. The 21-year-old went down to World No. 1 Carolina Marin of Spain in the epic gold medal match and settled with a silver but not before giving the Spainiard a tough fight.

She has also been honoured with prestigious Khel Ratna Award, the highest sporting honour, by the Government of India following her medal feat at Rio.

Here is the full list of cash rewards and gifts announced for PV Sindhu:

1- Rs 5 crore from Telangana government; 1,000 sq yards house site in the city, government job.

2- Rs 3 crore from Andhra Pradesh government; 1,000 sq yard house site in the new capital city of Amaravathi.

3- Rs 2 crore from Delhi government.

4- Rs 50 lakh each from Badminton Association of India (BAI), Sports Ministry, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh governments.

5- Rs 75 lakh from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).

6- Rs 50 lakh from Kerala businessman Mukkattu Sebastian, based in UAE.

7- Rs 30 lakh from Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

8- Rs 5 lakh from All India Football Federation (AIFF).

9- Rs 1.01 lakh from actor Salman Khan.

10- Rs 6 lakh worth diamond necklace from NAC Jewellers.

11- BMW car from V Chamundeswaranath, president of Hyderabad Badminton Association of India. India's cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar will present the car to Sindhu.
