Indonesia Open: Saina Nehwal marches into semis

Jakarata, Jun 26: Ace Indian shuttler, Saina Nehwal, who recently leaped to the world number three ranking, has reached the semi-finals of the Indonesia Open Super Series.

In a tough three-set game, the defending champion thrashed Russian eighth seed Ella Diehl 17-21, 21-11, 21-16 on Friday, Jun 25.

The 20-year-old will be clashing against fourth seed Japanese Eriko Hirose in the semi-finals. Hirose earlier took down fifth seed Yao Jie of Netherlands.

Saina Nehwal, who ealier occupied the sixth spot in the world badminton rankings, leaped three spots to thrid spot after clinching the Singapore Open Super Series last week.
