Hogg, who once was one of the key attractions among his Kolkata Knight Riders teammates as well as among the KKR fans, has come to India this time as an expert writer for a website for the Indian Premier League 2017.

The left arm spinner, after several attempts was finally contacted over phone, by this writer, in Mumbai which is his temporary current address.

Hogg said in the very beginning, “Sometimes I feel sad for being a spectator in the 10th edition of IPL. Only place we get joy and pleasure from is a cricket ground. Anyway, it is not in our hand. That is why, after being offered by a website to write as an expert for them on the IPL, I did not turn it down and came to India.

Watching the matches on television sets as well as getting an opportunity to watch some matches even sitting in the ground will also give me the feel that I am not out of the league this season."

Commenting upon his student in the KKR Kuldeep Yadav, Hogg expressed elation.

He said,"Kuldip was extra-ordinary in Dharamsala Test. Now he is more mature as a bowler. I was simply amazed to have watched him keeping accuracy in line and length consistently. He is really a funny guy. We used to have a lot of fun during the days in KKR. I always tried to push him by saying that if you cannot get into the squad I will replace him. But at the same time, he was very attentive when I tried to explain him about the technique sometimes at the nets. I wish him a long success. I will try to watch him ardently in the IPL also."
