Manchester, July 9: Intermittent rain forced the match officials to suspend the semi-final between India and New Zealand of the ICC World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford on Tuesday (July 9). The play will be resume on reserve day i.e. Wednesday (July 10) at 3:00 PM (IST) with New Zealand set to start from 211/5 in 46.1 overs.
Earlier in the day, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson won a crucial toss in the high-stake encounter and elected to bat first on a fresh pitch. But Indian pacers prevented the Kiwi batsmen from cutting loose early on and never allowed them to score freely. Later, the spinners too kept it tight for New Zealand batsmen. However, the skies opened up in the 47th over and prevented the players from getting back on the field. Ross Taylor (67*) and Tom Latham (3*) will resume innings on Wednesday.
Virat Kohli and his band, who bowled brilliantly so far, would be looking to finish the remaining overs on a positive note and restrict New Zealand to a low total.
So, who will emerge winner from this crunch game? The MyKhel Live Score of India vs New Zealand semifinal.
Bye for now! We'll resume our live blog on Wednesday (July 10) at 3 PM.
Both India and NZ would be happy with this.
Play called off for today as this notice makes clear. Play resumes tomorrow. New Zealand will continue their innings and it will be a 50-over affair pic.twitter.com/k03SZJktSB

Play has been abandoned for the day! New Zealand will resume their innings on Wednesday (July 10) at 3 PM (IST).
The hover cover has come back on, and we have 15 more minutes in hand before the match gets postponed for the reserve day.
The umpires are out in the middle and having a long chat near the pitch. The umpires are even rubbing their hands on the ground to check the dampness in the ground.
Update: The rain has returned, and the covers are coming back on
Update: Inspection at 6:10 PM local time. 22:40 IST at Old Trafford. It will be a 20 over game in that case and India's target will be 148.
Covers off. Inspection at 18.10. If okay, play can restart upto 18.35 for a 20 over game. Target 148 if so.

Update: It has started raining and the match officials might just decide to schedule this game to tomorrow with New Zealand finishing their innings and set-up an Indian chase. The ground staff will be unable to prepare the ground if the rain doesn't stop in the next 30 minutes.
The playing conditions say that if play cannot restart by the cut-off time for a result on the day (18.35 local time), play will be abandoned for the day and will restart the next day from the point at which it ended today.

The match has officially started losing overs if there is a resumption today. It will lose one over for every four minutes. Clearly, New Zealand won't be coming out to bat now.
Update: It's still drizzling at Old Trafford but the conditions have definitely improved and look a lot brighter.
A quick update about the calculations

Efforts will be made to complete the game today itself, even a 20-over chase. If it is not possible, will resume from 211/5 in 46.1 overs tomorrow - like it happened during the 1999 tournament.
We have a rain interruption. NZ are 211/5 after 46.1 overs.
2 over throws for NZ. Clumsy effort from Dhoni and the back-up fielders
Colin de Grandhomme gives a catching practice to Dhoni off Bhuvi. Five down for NZ with 200 on board
Chahal went for 18 run in his final over. He ends up with an underwhelming 10-0-63-1
Pandya finishes with 10-0-55-1. And Taylor gets 50 with a slog sweep off Chahal
Neesham went for a big shot off Pandya but the lack of pace in the pitch and in the ball reduced the shot just to a catch to Dinesh Karthik in the deep
Taylor is having an almighty struggle here. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya has returned to the field and bowling.
Chahal gave the ball a bit air and Williamson saw the chance to play a drive. He went for it but only to give Jadeja a simple catch in the covers. Out for 67
Jadeja finishes his spell at 10-0-34-1. He kept NZ in check brilliantly.
Drinks time at Old Trafford and 122/2 NZ are after 33 overs.
50 between Taylor and Williamson, came in 76 balls
50 for Kane Wiliamson and that was his 39th in ODIs.
100 up for NZ. in the 29th over.
Taylor slog sweeps Chahal for a 4. First boundary since the 14th over.
