Lahore, Apr 25 : PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf has reportedly ordered an inquiry against providing incorrect information to the Senate and the National Assembly regarding salaries of the PCB Chief Operating Officer, PCB Director (Marketing), PCB Director (HR), and PCB's Chief Financial Officer.
The matter of PCB giving inaccurate information about its officials' salaries came to the fore last week.
Last week, the PCB officials informed the National Assembly that Naghmi was drawing a salary of Rs 38,000 but in fact, the amount was later substantiated to be Rs 700,000 with Rs 38,000 as the basic salary.
Federal sports minister Khawaja Asif condemned the act of giving wrong information and the matter had been referred to the privilege committee.
Further investigations into the matter revealed that no salary record was available on the senior cricket board officials, reported the Daily Times.
Interestingly, a confidential letter written by the PCB's internal auditor department to senior general manager finance on Feb 11, 2008 has sought clarification on the account from which the salaries of the three officials, including chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi, director marketing Dr Ahsan Hameed Malik and ex-chief financial officer Hasan Ahmad, who resigned four months back, are being paid.
