IPL 2020: SRH vs KKR, Match 35 Updates

Abu Dhabi, October 18: Lockie Ferguson, Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik shine as Kolkata Knight Riders beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 35 of IPL 2020 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Sunday (October 18).

After late cameos from the current captain Morgan and former skipper Karthik helped Kolkata Knight Riders to a respectable score of 164 for 5. Ferguson starred with the ball in regulation time as well as the Super Over to hand KKR a much needed win.

Put into to bat, KKR were in a spot of bother at one stage when they were 105 for 4 in 15 overs, but Morgan (34 off 23 balls) and Karthik unbeaten on 29 off 14 balls powered their side to a par score.

Earlier, KKR got off to a good start with openers Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi scoring regular boundaries for a 48-run partnership before T Natarajan dismissed the latter in the sixth over.

In the 12th over, Rashid Khan removed Gill (36) and in the next over, Nitish Rana also followed Gill back to the dugou after he was dismissed by Vijay Shankar.

Morgan and Andre Russell helped KKR get past the 100-run mark. But, Russell soon gave away an easy catch to Shankar off Natarajan's delivery in the 15th over.

In the end, Morgan and Karthik played brilliantly and guided KKR to a decent total. Morgan scored 16 runs in the final over before getting out of the final delivery of the innings.

As for team news, Sunrisers brought in an extra pacer, Basil Thampi in place of spinner Shabaz Nadeem and Abdul Samad returns to the side to replace Khaleel Ahmed.

Meanwhile, KKR also made two changes from their defeat to Mumbai Indians with Chris Green and Prasidh Krishna making way for chinaman Kuldeep Yadav and New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson.
