New Delhi, April 28: Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis played splendid knock as Chennia Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets in Match 23 of IPL 2021 at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi on Wednesday (April 28).
Openers Gaikwad (75 off 44 balls) and Du Plessis (56 off 38 balls) shared a 129-run stand as CSK eased past SRH's target of 172 with seven wickets in hand and 9 balls to spare. For Sunrisers, Rashid Khan took three wickets, but it all came late in the day as the other bolwers couldn't handle the CSK openers onslaught.
Earlier, opting to bat first, A late onslaught from Kane Williamson and fifties from Manish Pandey and skipper David Warner guided Sunrisers Hyderabad to 171/3 in their allotted 20 overs. For CSK, Lungi Ngidi took two wickets, while Sam Curran claimed a wicket.
After the result, MS Dhoni's CSK moved to the top of the standings with five wins in six, while Warner's SRH remain rooted at the foot of the table after they lost their fifth game in six.
