Bengaluru, September 17: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is all set to resume on Sunday (September 19) with a blockbuster clash between heavyweights Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

IPL 2021, suspended earlier this year in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India, was moved to UAE, where the remaining 31 matches including the play-offs and final will take place in three venues.

While Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai will host 13 matches, Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah will host 8 and 10 matches respectively.

During the first phase earlier this year, many milestones were reached including Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli becoming the first player to score 6000 runs in IPL and CSK skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni becoming the first player to lead a single side in 200 T20 matches.

Rohit, who has led Mumbai Indians to four titles, is 3 appearances away from leading a team in 150 matches in T20 cricket.

Captain cool, who completed 150 dismissals behind the stumps and made his 200th appearance as captain of CSK, is approaching 5000 runs in IPL. Dhoni is 331 runs away from achieving the milestone. He is also 142 runs away from completing 7000 runs in T20 cricket.
