Ahmedabad, May 29: Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler clinched the Orange Cap as his teammate and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal won the Purple Cap of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.
Chahal overtook Wanindu Hasaranga, who was also on 26 wickets and better economy rate, with the dismissal of Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya in the IPL 2022 Final on Sunday (May 29).
RR opener Buttler, the runaway leader for most runs, was uncatchable at the top thanks to his four hundreds this season. His skipper Sanju Samson along with Gujarat Titans trio of Pandya, Shubman Gill and David Miller also made strides, but none could surpass Buttler.
In the Purple Cap leaderboard, Chahal and his teammate Prasidh Krishna along with GT bowlers Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan moved places.
