Bengaluru, February 13: The high profile Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Mega Auction came to a close after two days of intense bidding battles between ten franchises in Bengaluru.

The IPL 2022 mega auction that saw 600 players from 15 nations went under the hammer for 217 possible slots. The bidding wars between the franchises reached a crescendo as records were created and history was rewritten during the two-day event in the Garden City.

A total of 204 players, including 67 overseas, were sold in the bidding process and a whopping amount of Rs 551.70 crores were spent by the ten franchises.

Young India wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan emerged as the most expensive player of this year's auction process when his previous franchise Mumbai Indians bought his services for a whopping Rs 15.25 crore.

Deepak Chahar was the second on the list with a price tag of Rs 14 crore to his name from Chennai Super Kings. England's Liam Livingstone became the most expensive overseas player in IPL 2022 Auction when Punjab Kings bought the English all-rounder for Rs 11.50 crore.
