MS Dhoni IPL Record In Bengaluru: CSK Skipper May Play For Last Time At M Chinnaswamy Stadium

Bengaluru, April 17: Veteran captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni may be playing his last match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which has been a happy hunting ground for the Chennai Super Kings skipper in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

MS Dhoni's CSK will face hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore in match 24 of the ongoing IPL 2023 at the venue in Bengaluru on Monday (April 17). And this may be the last time, the legend appears for an IPL match as a player in the city.

MS Dhoni IPL record in Bengaluru

There is talk that the IPL 2023 may be Dhoni's last season as a player in the world's biggest T20 cricket league. With CSK set to face RCB only once as things stand, this may also be Dhoni's last match against the Bangalore-based franchise.

Dhoni, who completed 200 matches as skipper of CSK in IPL during the last outing, will look to make his presence felt at the venue in Bengaluru, where he owns a good record.

In his 10 innings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the 41-year-old has amassed 463 runs, including 5 fifties at an incredible average of 92.60 and a strike rate of 180.85.

Bengaluru will definitely miss Dhoni's finishing especially his sixes and boundaries as he has struck 35 fours and 32 sixes at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where he also has won 4 of 8 matches in IPL.

2019: 84 not out off 48 balls (5 fours, 7 sixes) batting at number 6 for CSK vs RCB

Dhoni also has happy memories of the venue as a captain of CSK in the now defunct Champions League T20 (CLT20) as the Chennai-based franchise won the title in 2014, beating Kolkata Knight Riders at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Dhoni has not yet officially confirmed that this will be his last IPL as a player, but had hinted that he wants to have a chance to say a proper goodbye to the CSK fans, playing in front of them at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

So, it's not certain that this will be Dhoni's last IPL or in fact the last match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as the playoff venues are yet to be revealed for the season.
