LSG, on the other hand, suffered a 7-run loss to defending champions GT in Lucknow after an impressive win over RR in Jaipur. Also, before those two results, LSG lost at home to PBKS.

Earlier, they registered victory over Delhi Capitals at home, but followed that with an away loss to Chennai Super Kings in Chennai. However, LSG responded with back-to-back away wins, starting with a 5-wicket win over SRH in Hyderabad before a 1-wicket win over RCB in Bengaluru.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides in IPL. This will also be the first meeting between the two sides at the PCA Stadium, which hosts it's fourth IPL 2023 match.
