Super Kings 'speak their hearts out' at Peter England show

Chennai, Apr 30(UNI)Riding high with an unbeaten run in the Indian Premier League(IPL), so far, the Chennai Super Kings are moulding the fashion of the day too now.

Last night, some of the 'Super Kings' of the team inlcuding Stephen Flemming, Muttian Muralitharan, Mkhaya Ntini, Suresh Raina, Joginder Sharma, Parthiv Patel, L Balaji on the come back trail after his injury and Albie Morkel walked the ramp to humerous anchoring by Bollywood and Tollywood actor R Madhavan. Used to spectators at the stadium rooting for them, they were now rooting for Peter England brand's ''formal wear''.

Madhavan 'felt their pulse' quizzing them on how they felt taking part in the IPL. The packed hall at a five start hotel resounded to repeated applause as Ntini revealed his flair for humour and witticism in his answers, Joginder Sharma said there was no nervousness involved when his captain often asks him to bowl the last over in the T20 IPL matches.

The former Kiwi captain Flemming said it was interesting discussing match strategy in the team bus with the same players whose weak points he used to discuss with his Kiwi teamates during his playing days for his country. ''It's interesting also to learn about the cultures of different players. ''I am now talking in three languages but not yet in Tamil'', he said in jest when Madhavan asked him ''you must be knowing Tamil by now playing for a Chennai team.'' Dhoni, the star attraction said he was stumped by Madhavan's charisma even as the latter recalled the fact that he too, like Dhoni was born in Bihar. ''I am seeing you for the first time off screen'', Dhoni also exulted.

Muralitharan too said he was happy to be playing for Chennai where his grandfather belonged and now his wife.

The local talent along with S Badrinath, Vidhyut Siva and Anirudha, L Balaji, who also walked the ramp sporting Peter England wear, said he was looking forward to be back on the field after two years recovering from his back injury.

''I missed two years. I am looking forward for a start and IPL will be the right start for me'', Balaji who was a great favourite with the crowds in Pakistan which he toured soon after his debut a few years ago, said.
